Costanza Conti studied mathematics at the University of Florence. She got the Phd in Naple, in Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences.As a postdoc she spent some time in Germany, at the University of Hohenheim and in France at INSA, Toulouse. Since 2005 she is Professor of Numerical analysis at the University of Florence. Her main interests are: splines, subdivision schemes approximation and interpolation methods. She worked also on numerical grid generation. Recently, she wrote many important papers about these topics and these research works were published on Computer-Aided Design,Computer Aided Geometric Design, Applied Mathematics Letters, and etc.

报告内容

Univariate pseudo-splines are a generalization of uniform B-splines and interpolatory 2n-point subdivision schemes. Each pseudo-spline is characterized as the subdivision scheme with least possible support among all schemes with specific degrees of polynomial generation and reproduction. In this talk, after describing univariate pseudo-splines we consider the problem of constructing the symbols of the bivariate counterpart on the four-directional grid of the plane. In particular, we provide a formula for the symbols of a family of symmetric four-directional bivariate pseudo-splines. All methods employed in this work are of purely algebraic nature.
