报告简介:

Conformal parameterizations are attractive and popular since they have no angular distortion. They have been widely used in many applications, such as texture mapping, surface remeshing, computational design, and physical simulation. However, conformal parameterizations usually suffer from significant area distortion. Techniques of cone parameterizations effectively mitigate area distortion in conformal parameterizations by placing a set of cone singularities. In this talk, I will discuss our recently proposed method to generate sparse cone singularities with bounded distortion constraints for conformal parameterizations. We demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of our algorithm on a large-scale data set. Compared to state-of-the-art methods, our method achieves a better tradeoff between the number of cones and the parameterization distortion.


报告人简介:

傅孝明, 副教授 分别于2011、2016年在中国科学技术大学获得学士、博士学位2016年至2021年于中国科学技术大学任副研究员。研究领域为计算机图形学与计算机辅助设计, 研究方向涉及几何处理、优化建模、制造等。已在计算机图形学领域顶级期刊ACM Trans. on Graphics发表论文十八篇。主页:https://ustc-gcl-f.github.io/
